Holy Hair of prohet Muhammad Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم)

   
Verily Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) is Allah’s beloved. Allah has given countless blessings to his beloved. With Allah’s special mercy anything and everything related to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) is a blessing. Believers know this and they take every opportunity to grasp it.

We have seen in recent past some events related to sacred hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) which received public attention. One of such events was handing over of the sacred hair as stated in my previous post Sacred Hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) in India. Consequently believers in south Indian state, Kerala became very happy. Their leader announced a plan to construct a grand mosque worth of 400 million Indian Rupees to have an honorable home for the Sacred Relic. The public acceptance got for this mission suggested that believers are ready to spend in respect of their beloved Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) even it is 4000 million.

But sorry to say that there are some critics airing skeptical comments showing their uneasiness on the ‘Sacred Hair’. Some question the authenticity of it and some others vary on the length of it. One would feel sorry for them as their allegations are baseless without proofs or historical evidences.




A brief study I have made on the subject revealed many miraculous facts on Hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم).

•It won’t decay by passage of time.
•It grows as time passes.
•It splits into multiples.
•It moves by itself once kept in Majlis al Dikr (Gathering to remember Allah).
•It often glows in dark.

Respected scholar Yousuf Ismail Yousuf al Nabhani (يوسف اسماعيل النبهاني) from Palestine (1849–1932) mentions in his book ‘Jawahir al Bihar’ (جواهر البحار في فضائل النبي المختار) narration from Great Scholar Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi ( عبد الغني النابلسي رضي الله عنه). Nabulsi (1641 – 1731), a Damascus bound scholar during his visit to Madinah Shareef met a scholar from India named Gulam Muhammad.

This Indian scholar used to read them ‘’Futoohat al Malakiyyah’ (فتوحات الملكية) authored by Great Shaikh Muhyidhin al Arabi (رضي الله عنه). He explained on availability of many Sacred Hairs in India and its supernatural behaviors. Those hairs are exhibited during 9^th of month Rabiul Awwal every year for public to have blessings. The Indian scholar explained that some hairs will move by self and he had witnessed it. Some hairs grow and some of them offshoot new hairs.

Some historians reported that a rightful Indian king Nooruddin al Shaheed had a collection of Sacred Hairs in his stock. He made a ‘wasiyah’ (will letter) to keep the Hairs in his eyes after his death and was done so.

Another incident about ‘Sacred Hair’ is narrated by great Indian saint Shah Waliullah Muhaddith Dehlavi (رضي الله عنه) (1703 – 1762) in his book ‘Hirz al Thameen fi Mubasharaatin Nabiyil Ameen’. His father told that once he was ill and he saw Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) in dream. He explained about his illness to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and He (صلى الله عليه و سلم) found a cure for it and from His (صلى الله عليه و سلم) blessed beard left two hairs. He instantly recovered and when woke up, both the blessed hairs were in his hand. Shah Waliullah writes, “My father gave me one from the blessed hairs.”

It is wonderful, isn’t it? Those who know the meaning of Prophetic Miracle won’t need more to believe it. But others who might try to measure with physical scales will find it hard to digest. According to Shaikh Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi, Allah has granted special life pattern to parts belonging to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم).

There were many miracles shown by Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) to his people only to be denied by many. One of them is the moon splitting incident as Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) had shown full moon split and separated to two parts of the horizon. Many people in Makkah who watched it by own eyes didn’t believe it. Surprisingly a king from India saw it and set his sail to Makkah to embrace Islam. (Check Tajudhin Al Hindi (Raliya Allahu Anhu for details).

Similarly another great miracle of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) Al Isra’ wal Mieraj (الاسراء و المعراج) was denied and scrutinized by Makkah infidels. But, see the Great Sahabi Abu Bakr al Siddiq (رضي الله عنه) accepted it without a rethink. It is ‘Eeman’, the real faith which many fail to posses.

Now the onus is on us. Believing it or not is one’s own choice. But don’t bully it by posting and circulating unnecessary emails which will tarnish image of our Ummah in public. If one can’t digest it, better for him to keep quite.

Recently enough, Shaikh Ahmad Muhammad Al Khazraji (طول الله عمره), a descendant from Khazraj tribe of Madinah in Abu Dhabi have a healthy collection of many ‘Sacred Hairs’ having fail proof authentic certificate. He exhibits the Blessed Relic to public on 23rd night of Ramadan. One respected brother has posted the news here شعرات من رأس الحبيب عليه السلام. He has mentioned the miraculous behavior of the Hair growing by itself.

One young Indian scholar now doing his doctorate in Al Azhar University has recounted explanations given by Shaikh Ahmad Muhammad Al Khazraji during his recent visit to him. The Shaikh tells that some hairs in his collection grow 1.7 to 2.5% in a year.

Interestingly enough he has noticed new hairs being added up in his collection. Curious to know, he has shown the new hairs to fire to check whether it burns. No, it has surpassed the test ensuring that it was derived from the original hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم)! He also noticed some hairs moving by itself upon kept in Majlis al Dikr (مجلس الذكر) and some glowing in dark.


Fitting to their unparalleled privilege, government of U.A.E has recently published stamps as a respect to his father Muhammad Al Khazraji (رحمة الله عليه). His father had served as Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in U.A.E.

Kerala high court gives approval for starting Islamic Bank in State

Kochi, Thursday, February 03, 2011: The Kerala High Court today gave approval for commencing the operation of an Islamic Bank in State.


The High Court rejected the petition filed by Janata Party President Dr. Subramanian Swamy challenging the sanction given by the Kerala Government for starting the Islamic Bank.

Earlier, the Kerala High Court directed the State government and the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) to ensure that a newly formed banking company, said to be based on Islamic principles, did not commence its operations until further orders.

A Bench of Chief Justice S.R. Bannurmath and Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan passed the interim direction on a public interest writ petition by Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy challenging a government order according sanction for registration of the Islamic finance service company by the KSIDC.

Swamy argued that the Government action was against the country’s secular principle and would lead to similar demands from other religions.
As per the Government order, 11 per cent of the equity would be held by the KSIDC. This showed the identification of the KSIDC with Islam. The setting up of a company with co-ownership of the state was “antithetical” to equal treatment of all religions. The Shariah-compliant operation of the company would also mean imposing prohibitions under the Shariah law, Subramanian Swamy said.

Holy Hair of Muhammad Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) in India



Sacred hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) with certificate of authenticity is being handed over to Shaikh Aboobacker Ahmad



  It is quiet sensational! Words can’t express the feelings if one is given possession authority of sacred hair of Rasoolullah(صلى الله عليه و سلم), verily Allah’s beloved. The emotion is paramount if one loves Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and he is offered to keep the sacred traces with full authority.

The sacred hair handing over event held during Markaz Conference was really emotional. Shaikh Ahmad Al Khazraji, Abu Dhabi, UAE handed over one hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) to renowned Indian Scholar Shaikh Aboobacker Ahmad during the conference with a massive crowd watching virtually breathless with tears in their eyes. The event was telecasted live over internet allowing many to witness glimpse of it round the world.

The Sacred Hair was handed over after reading names of greats who inherited it starting from era of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) till date. Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) during his Hajj pilgrimage (الحجة الوداع) had distributed his hairs to his companions. The companions kept them sacredly and passed over to next generation. Passing from generations to generations many such hairs are available now kept with high dignity in many parts of the world.

Shaikh Ahmad Al Khazraji, son of Shaikh Muhammed Al Khazraji, former Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, United Arab Emirates inherits many traces belonging to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم). He is a descendant from Khazraj tribe, one of the prominent tribe in Yathrib (Madinah) at the era of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم). They are ‘Ansars’ as they welcomed and offered unmatched helps to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) and his companions migrated from Makkah.

Shaikh Ahmad Al Khazraji used to exhibit his sacred collections to general public in his home in Abu Dhabi on 12th night of Rabiul Awwal. He dips the hairs in water and presents bottles of that water to the keen visitors on the day.

Shaikh Ahmad Al Khazraji, has mentioned that he got order from Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) through dream to hand over the hair to the leader of pious Muslims in Kerala. Markaz already keeps one hair of Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) which was collected from another source.

Markaz conference is conducted biannually or tri annually to grant certificates to young Islamic Sharia graduates and Quran Hafizs. A huge crowd of around a million people were present at the vicinity of Markaz Conference. Markaz Anniversay: Conference on National Security ‘Outstanding’

Celebrating the 33rd anniversary and 15th convocation, Markaz staged an astounding conference on national security.  The event was inaugurated by Sri Mullappalli Ramachandran, The union Minister of State for Home Affairs.  The Union Minister of State for Agriculture was the chief guest.  The dignitaries who participated included: opposition leader Sri Oommen Chandi, E.T. Muhammad Basheer, Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar, K.E. Ismail MP, Advocate P.T.A. Raheem MLA, Justice Akbarali Chennai, UC Raman MLA,  Aryadan Mohammed MLA, MP Veerendra Kumar, Dr. MK Muneer, C.Moyin Kutty,etc.

The openning address made by Sri Mullappalli Ramachandran, The union Minister of State for Home Affairs:

Our nation is the outcome of the sacrifice rendered by millions of selfless Indians.  Freedom and democracy are as important for us as the air we breathe.  This country is the dream of hundreds of martyrs.  So it is our duty to make sure that our nation remains proud and strong in spite of the challenges from within and without.

National security is our top priority.   No nation can overlook the internal threats posed by the anti-national elements within such as: extremism, fanaticism, terrorism, etc.  It is part of our security policy that we crack down on those destabilizing factors. It demands us to be proactive and urges us to resort to defensive or protective measures.

We have been facing internal menaces from militant outfits like Maoists, violent tribal groups from Gurka, Nagas, Bodos, etc.  As a free nation we have to approach these issues strategically compromising on the solidarity of the country.

A militant organization called Gorkha Janmukti Morcha has been using violence as a means to achieve their ends.  The hard work and perseverance of the Central Home Ministry resulted in the formation of Darjeeling Gorkha Parishad and the issued are being resolved though negotiations.

 Threats from Leftwing Extremism

The Maoist terror is escalating in the middle northern states of India.  They are violently active in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha provinces of Maharashtra, eastern Orissa, eastern West Bengal, northern Andra Pradesh, etc.  Maoism gained momentum in these parts due to the social backwardness, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, etc.  These leftist extremists have caused considerable human loss for CRPF.  Central government has not resorted to armed crack down on Nexelites so far.  Instead, we are attempting to eliminate the root causes for their growth.  We are trying to ensure the basic amenities of the people of these areas.  The union government has recently offered 55 Nexal-infested districts financial aid of over 2500 crores.  The government has already launched a number of developmental programmes in order to improve their standard of life.

 The Issues of North Eastern States

The north eastern states of Sikkim, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh were enjoying peace and security.  Unfortunately the separatist violent activities which started in Nagaland spread across the state borders to the neighboring states of Assam and Manipur.  Meghalaya and Tripura are also facing minor disturbances.  Thanks to the endeavors of the central government, situations in the north eastern states are improving.  Death toll has gone considerably down.   Public support has dwindled drastically.  The youth, who were otherwise part of the militant outfits, are disposing of their extreme ideologies and cooperating with the rehabilitation process.

 The Disturbed Valley

Kashmir is an integral part of the country.  Initially Kashmir did not join either with India or Pakistan during the partition.  Later on they joined India with under some conditions.  In respect of the contract Kashmir enjoy special privileges.  Ever since it has been a state any other states in India.  However, our neighbouring nation has deliberately been keeping Kashmir a burning issue.  They succeeded in influencing a portion of the Kashmiris offering money, means and militant training.

Jammu and Ladak are still peaceful comparatively.    The proportion of separatists are very minute compared to the rest of peace-loving patriotic Kashmiris.  Except for a short period for presidential rule, Kashmiris have always had democratically elected governments in the state.  Central government has been implementing different plans in the valley, aimed at bringing in long lasting peace.  The forces are strictly advised to abide by international human right norms.

 Peaceful Malabar

Malabar had a significant role in our freedom struggle.  Malabar has given birth to great freedom fighters like Kunhali Marakkar, Pazhashi Raja, K.P. Keshava Menon, Kelappan, etc.  We have always maintained that peaceful patriotic vein.  Unfortunately, the recent developments show that even the South is not impenetrable for anti-national forces.  We need to stand united against these forces of the dark.  It is our cooperation between the public and the government that will help us nip those miscreants in the bud.

 The challenges faced by the Muslims of Malabar

Historically speaking the Indian Muslims have completely assimilated to this land.  They have a very healthy secular mind set.  Muslims have established an inseparable bond with this soil through centuries. They stood firmly against the British imperialists.  Their patriotic spirits went across the borders of Malabar.  The great Mappila freedom fighters became national heroes.  Their contributions are immense.  Nobody can undermine the share of struggle that the Muslims had for the making of this great nation.

The world is going through a hard time in the sense that every nation is facing potential threats from terrorist organizations of different denominations.  In the present scenario, India is not an exception.  However, we are firmer than ever against such attempts.  We as a nation will display zero tolerance to violence and terror whatever corner they coming from.  A few members of the Muslim community have been arrested recently for their involvement in the terrorist activities. They are very negligible in number and strength. They do not represent the wider Muslim community.  We have to work hand in hand to eliminate the anti-national elements from any community.  Community organizations should work effectively to combat extremism.  Muslim organizations should be in the forefront, in our fight against terrorism and separatism.  The government is committed to integrate the minority communities to the mainstream.  Their doubts need to be cleared their honour needs to be protected

Jharkhand Governor inaugrates 33rd Markaz conference

Kozhikode, Jan 7 (PTI) Jharkhand Governor M O H Farooq, today inaugurated the 33rd anniversary conference of Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssuniyya, a socio-cultural and educational institution, at the nearby Karanthur here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq said Markaz was one of the fastest growing socio-cultural and educational institution in the country, catering to over 50,000 students.

'Markaz's motto that'knowledge is every citizen's birthright', makes it the ideal destination for anyone whose driving force in life is an insatiable thirst for knowledge', he said.

Farooq said'knowledge, if taken in comprehensive sense, is more than mere collection of information, it is the acutal unlocking of the human mind that has shaped the course of human history'.

Markaz has built an international reputation for its contribution to Islamic education, he said, adding Markaz was one of the few institutions in the world to get the coveted recognition of AI-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt.

In a torment ridden world, no knowledge is worthwhile if the mind is bereft of concern for those besieged by anguish, he said.

'Home to thousands of destitute children and a source of relief and comfort for numerous families, this important non-governmental institution of charity has carved a niche for itself amongst the poor and the deprived', he said.

The march of Markaz has been steady and stellar since its humble beginning in 1978 under the leadership of Sheik Aboobacker Ahmed. Colleges

Three Faculty Departments at Markaz currently enjoy Al-Azhar (Egypt) accreditation. The Departments of Arabic Language, Islamic Jurisprudence, and Islamic Studies have this unique distinction.

The Islamic Share-a-th College of Markaz follows the traditional way of imparting Islamic knowledge. More than 300 students get the Saquafi degree from this institution every year.

An excellent education centre with state-of-the-art facilities at Punoor offers religious and temporal education to select students. Religion and modernity find a rare synthesis here. The students can simultaneously earn religious and university degrees through this institution.


Markaz Arts and Commerce College, established in 1985, offers courses for bachelor degrees in commerce and humanities from Calicut University. It also gives best Islamic knowledge in different branches. The students are provided hostel accommodation.
Markaz Library can match any great storehouse of knowledge not only in the number of books but in variety as well. The Research Centre functioning adjacent to the Library has all the ingredients fit to lift Markaz to higher realms of learning.

Schools

Markaz has schools affiliated to both the State and the Central (CBSE) streams with classes from LKG to plus-two. Irrespective of caste and religion, Markaz schools attract students from all parts of Kerala. Markaz campuses have excellent laboratories for botany, physics, chemistry, astronomy and computer science.

Markaz has a large campus for foreign students. Markaz also runs an Islamic Secondary School, which follows the curriculum of Al-Azhar University, Cairo. The Markaz School of Quran has been rated one of the best in the country. Markaz students have won laurels in international Quran competitions held in Arabian and other Muslim countries.

Technical & Professional Institutes

Markaz IT Centre offers courses in diesel mechanic, electronics, wireman, automobile engineering, electrical engineering, refrigeration and airconditioning, computer software, hardware and networking, D.T.P in three languages (Arabic, English and Malayalam), architectural assistant, and driver-cum-mechanic.

Markaz Handicrafts Centre is a well-established unit offering training in making umbrella, soap, candle, paper bag, chalk, etc. It also trains students in book-binding, screen printing, dye making, etc.

Charity Activities

Caring for orphans is among the basic objectives of Markaz. It currently runs two orphanages, one for boys and the other for girls. The inmates there get free food, accommodation, health care, education, vocational training and other facilities. They undergo education till Plus-Two with special course in Islamic higher secondary education.

Markaz has a special project known as Orphan Care, which takes care of the expenses of poor orphans when they are at home. About 1,500 orphans from across the country are beneficiaries of this project.

Emirates House for Kashmiri Students is a unique charity institution of Markaz, which takes care of more than 200 children from the strife-torn Kashmir. It is funded by the Red Crescent of the United Arab Emirates.

Markaz runs Students Home with modern hostel facilities, accommodating more than 1,400 students of different Islamic colleges.

Ponoor Hospital & Research Centre is a charity hospital with modern facilities. Specialist departments such as maternity, child health, surgery, general medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, neurology, and orthopaedics are available there.

Markaz also runs Medical Centres supplying medicines and conducting medical camps.

A voluntary organization functions under Markaz to provide medicine, ambulance, and other services to the patients of Medical College, Calicut.

Markaz extends financial and physical aid to people affected by natural calamities. It also undertakes distribution of food to poor families in backward areas.

Markaz offers scholarships to pursue higher study in medical science, engineering, management, computer science and mass communication. Priority is given to the poor.

The sweet water project of Markaz aims at helping the people suffering from dearth of water. Markaz has dug several wells and bore wells at many places benefiting thousands of families.

Markaz has formed a scheme called Marriage Aid to help the poor find suitable alliances.

On the day of Eidul-Azha, Markaz distributes the Kurban (meat) in different parts of country

Dr.Muhammad Abdu Yamani

Dr. Muhammad Abdu Yamani

The former Minister of Culture and Information of Saudi Arabia, and a respected Islamic thinker, Dr. Muhammad Abdu Yamani, passed away on Sunday, 7 November 2010/2 Dhul-Hijja 1431 Hijri, at the age of 72. He was a descendent of the Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him). He was buried at Mua’la Cemetery in Makkah, near Sayyida Khadija, the wife of Prophet Muhammad, on the following Tuesday afternoon. His funeral prayers were held in the Grand Mosque. Dr. Yamani was visiting the residence of Prince Khalid Al Faisal when he suffered a stroke on Sunday evening, and he was transferred to the Saudi German hospital in Jeddah where he expired. He was born in Mecca in 1938 and received his early education in the Haram al Sharif or Grand Mosque, but then obtained a doctorate degree in geology from Cornell University in the US. He served as a lecturer at various Saudi universities before being appointed to high-ranking positions, including President of King Abdul-Aziz University from 1973 to 1975, and Minister of Information from 1975 to 1983.
 He was the author of more than 35 books, both in Arabic and English, in the areas of religion, culture and science. He had received many honours, including medals from France, Spain, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries.
 He was a very close family friend, who was very modest and humble in his work, and active in social welfare and charities. He was also a member of the boards of directors of many companies, including banks.
 Dr. Yamani’s death is a significant loss for Muslims everywhere, as noted in the Arab News of 8 November. The newspaper quoted Sharief Mansour Abu Rayyash, a columnist for the newspaper Al-Nadwah, who said of Yamani, “He was a lover of Makkah and supported various cultural, literary and sports activities in the holy city.”
 He defended the famous Sheikh Al-Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki against the Wahhabis, and without Dr. Yamani, the Sufi Sheikhs in the Saudi Kingdom will have nobody influential left to assist them in the manner he did.
 He had a large sign made and posted at the historical battle ground of Badr, with the names of the Prophet’s Companions who were martyred there.
 I shall cherish my last meeting with him, as we recalled the days when my Sheikh Sayyid Habib Ahmad Mashhur Al Haddad, and other Ba’ Alawi Sheikhs, would hold Mawlid gatherings commemorating the Prophet’s birthday, and where Yamani was a regular visitor. He gave me his famous book, This is Fatimah Al-Zahraa, about the life of Muhammad’s daughter, and the Prophet’s family (May peace and blessings be upon them)
 Dr. Yamani recently had decided to move back to Makkah, his birthplace, with his wife, and purchased land to build a house before becoming ill.
